Dunedin Regional Information
New Zealand's oldest city offers an experience in Scottish History, architecture and wildlife.
The gold rush left a legacy of ornate Victorian and Edwardian buildings which set the tone of the city. The beautiful Railway Station and Otago University are prime examples of how the past has shaped this city.
First settled by Scottish settlers, their influence is still felt today. Eating Haggis is NOT a requirement when you visit!
It is the Otago Peninsula that attracts most visitors to the region. The world's only mainland Albatross colony is located at the tip of the peninsula and the rare Yellow-Eyed penguins can be viewed here at dawn and dusk. Fur seals, sea lions, blue penguins and many bird species also call this peninsula home.
