Rotorua Regional Information
Rotorua is the name of the city and the lake. It is a land of geothermal phenomena with geysers, bubbling mud, hillsides vieled behind steaming vents and the world's largest thermal lake. Be warned - not only does the landscape look unique but it smells unique too!
But what is truly special about Rotorua is that it is a region steeped with Maori history. Here you can hear the legends, watch the fearless warriors do the Hake or the tranquil women do a poi dance. It is the pride and passion of the native Maori that make Rotorua what it is.
